Longtime fishmonger Phil DeRosa had most recently worked as the retail manager for The Smokehouse in Mamaroneck. When that store abruptly closed -- the owner didn't take care of some listeria concerns, according to DeRosa -- he decided to open his own shop.

Mamaroneck Seafood opened Wednesday, Nov. 1 and specializes in fresh seafood, smoked fish and caviar as well as meats (think duck confit and foie gras) and specialty imported groceries. The shop also does customized platters.

DeRosa owned Imperial Seafood in Mamaroneck for 20 years and said he has a loyal Westchester following. "I'm happy to be back," he said.

Mamaroneck Seafood is at 630 Halstead Ave., 914-777-3474.  Like the store on Facebook and get $10 off your next order.
