Orange County Residents Lose Power During Storm

Dozens of area residents have been left in the dark on Thursday as a nasty storm with drenching rain and gusty winds rolled through the region.

As of 1:40 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, a total of 28 Central Hudson customers in Dutchess and another several in Orange County were reporting power outages amid the early stages of what is expected to be a major storm.

Millterton and Fishkill (nine outages each) took the hardest early hit, followed by Poughkeepsie, (seven) and East Fishkill (three). In Orange County, each of the early outages were reported in Cornwall, where three customers were impacted. Additionally, 11 Orange & Rockland Utility customers in Orange County are reporting outages, including nine in Warwick and one each in Wallkill and the Town of Tuxedo.
