A 10-year-old boy was sitting on the curb in the area of Lang Terrace and Lombardi Road in Pearl River on Saturday, Jan. 12 at about 2 p.m. when a white cargo-type van with tinted windows operated by a white male stopped and asked the boy if he wanted a ride home, Orangetown Police said.

The boy saw his neighbor walking and asked her for help at which time the van left the area.

"There is no better description of the vehicle/driver nor do we believe there was any criminality involved at this time," Orangetown Police said. "The young boy did the right thing in seeking help and we encourage all parents to have the conversation with their children regarding what to do if this were ever to occur to them."

If anyone has any information or video regarding the incident or if you were the driver of the vehicle involved, please call the Orangetown Police Department at 845-359-3700.
