SOMERS, N.Y. – Members of the Somers High School football team attended the Section 1 banquet in White Plains on Sunday and several earned honors for their play this season.

Running back Stefano Bicknese earned 2012 Outstanding Back for Class A League 2, while Joe Lombardo earned 2012 Outstanding Lineman.

Joe Festo, Dylan Owen and Dan Campbell, along with Bicknese and Lombardo, made the All-Section team. Robert Pontbriand, John Decker and Jason Falasca earned Honorable Mention.

“It was great,” Festo said of the experience. “It felt like we were pretty much leaders.”

Festo, a wide receiver, said he was especially proud to make the All-Section team because of the role he played in the Tuskers’ offense this season.

“It was an honor. Especially from being from the Wing T offense, no one expects a receiver to get it so it’s a good honor.”

Information from a submission by Richard Owen was used in this report.
