SOMERS, N.Y. – The eighth and fifth grade travel boys basketball teams from Somers won the Westchester County Center Tournament on March 17.
The eighth grade team won the Tri County Championship game, defeating White Plains, 66-65, according to team representatives. Coach Sean Henderson, of The Somers "Red" fifth Grade Travel Team, said, “They really came together and played as a team, they worked hard all season and played great team basketball.”
The eighth grade team picture includes:
Players Messiah Horne, Brendan Blanch, Marc Maestri, Tim Sweeny, Kiritin Remnarace, Luke Bugoni, Matt Mariani, Ross Dietrich, Matt Pires and Ryan Maloney. The coaches are Al Mariani, Mike Maloney and John Dietrich.
