This story has been updated.

Police have found the car and driver wanted in association with a suspicious incident involving a 10-year-old boy on his way to school in Westchester.

The incident took place around 8:10 a.m. Tuesday when the boy, who attends Main Street School in Irvington, was standing near the corner of Meadow Street and Millbrook Avenue off Route 119 in Tarrytown waiting for his school bus.

The suspicious man drove up in a light-colored, late-model Honda Civic four-door sedan, with a New York yellow color “Empire” style plate, traveling north on Meadow Street and spoke to the child through an open passenger side window, said Tarrytown Police Lt. Greg Budnar.

The man asked, “Do you need a ride to school?” When the child said “No,” the man pulled away traveling north on Meadow Street toward Route 119, Budnar said.

According to Budnar, the Tarrytown Police Department, in conjunction with the Village of Irvington Police Department, were able to identify the vehicle involved as well as the driver with a lot of "footwork."

"The male in question has been identified as a local school student who resides in the community," said Budnar. "An interview with the student revealed that there was no malicious or criminal intent during this incident."

Budnar added the department is confident there is no threat to the public regarding the incident.
