SOMERS, N.Y. – Michael J. Kaminski of Somers died Nov. 29 at the New York State Veterans Home in Montrose. He was 80.
Kaminski was born April 21, 1932, in Queens to Jonas and Mary Stalmoka Kaminskas. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He then worked as a pastry chef at the Plaza Hotel in New York City.
He married Margaret "Rita" Sweeney in 1959 in the Bronx. He retired from P.S. 40 in the Bronx after 27 years in 1997. He was a Bronx resident before moving to Somers recently.
Kaminski is survived by his wife; three daughters, Rita (Michael) Rogers, Linda (Anthony) Prezioso and Tina Dramen; a son, Joseph (Susan Murray) Kaminski; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Clark Associates Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Church in Croton Falls. Burial will follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx.
