Monday, May 21

Republican Club Honors Scholarship Winners: 6:30 pm.- 9 p.m. U.S. Rep. Nan Hayworth will join the Somers Rebublican Club in honoring this year's winners. The price is $40 per person in advance and $45 at the door. The event takes place at Le Fontane Restaurant, Routes 100 and 139 in Somers.

Tuesday, May 22

Meet the Democratic Candidates: 7 p.m. The Somers Democratic Club invites the public to hear talks by Democratic candidates who will run in the June primary for Congress, the state Senate and the 94th Assembly District seat. The annual membership meeting of the Democratic Club will follow. For more information call Christine Robbins (914) 245-5120. The meeting takes place at the Somers Library, 82 Primrose St.

Concert at Somers High School: 7:30 p.m.- 9 p.m. The high school orchestra and chorus will get together for a spring concert. Somers High School is at 120 Primrose St. in Lincolndale.

Wednesday, May 23

Fashion Show: 7:00 p.m. See what the Somers High School Fashion and Textile Arts Club has been up to. The theme of this year's fashion show is Icons and it takes place in the Somers High School auditorium at 120 Primrose St. in Lincolndale. Admission is $5 for children and $7 for adults.

SEPTA Meeting: 7:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. There will be a meeting of the Special Education PTA at the Somers Intermediate School, 240 Route 202, Somers.

Emergency Preparedness: 7:30 p.m. Learn how to prepare for disasters and weather emergencies: what to do before, during and afterwards. There is no charge for town residents. To register, call (914) 277-3637. The presentation will take place at Somers Middle School, 250 Route 202, Somers.

Thursday, May 24

Living History Day: Organized by 7th grade history teacher Bill Weinecke, Living History Day is held every year just before Memorial Day. The event takes place all day long at Somers Middle School at 250 Route 202.

Spring into Katonah: A Celebration of the Senses: 6:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. An evening celebrating the sights, tastes and landmarks of Katonah will feature exhibits and displays by Katonah’s cultural institutions, food and wine tastings from Katonah restaurants and shops, and live music by Gerard Carelli. The event is at Lasdon Park and Arboretum, Route 35 in Somers. Admission is $20 per person. The rain date is May 31. For further information call (914) 864-7268.

Twelfth Night: It’s the opening night of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” at the Schoolhouse Theater. Penny Cherns, head of the classical acting department at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, directs the play. Performances will continue Thursdays through Sundays until June 10. Tickets are $33 on Thursdays and Fridays, $35 on Saturdays and Sundays. Performances start at 8 p.m., except Sundays, which are matinees at 3 p.m. For further information call (914) 277-8477.
