Somers: What's Open, How To Cope

SOMERS, N.Y. – As of 3 p.m., 7,119  of the 9,087 NYSEG customers in Somers were still without power Thursday.

“All state and county and local officials are pushing NYSEG to get power back up,” Supervisor Mary Beth Murphy said. “We do not have any more shipments of dry ice planned for today and are at NYSEG’s mercy.”

She did not have specific information about power restoration, but said she would participate in a 3 p.m. call with NYSEG today.

“Out biggest concern is clearing Routes 202 and 139,” Murphy said. “This morning our highway crews were working with NYSEG to clear the roads.”
