SOMERS, N.Y. - Harry Stafford, of Somers, died in his sleep March 25 at the Waterview Nursing Center in Purdys. He was 86.
Stafford was born March 17, 1926 in New York City. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Neal A. Scott (DE 769). After graduating from Brooklyn College, Stafford began his career as a certified public accountant. After 25 years with Stafford and Margulis, CPA, he practiced privately until he retired to Somers from Manhasset, N.Y.
Surviving are his wife Anne; his sister, Florence (Seymour) Grebow of Delray Beach, Fla.; his sons, Robert Dunn of Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. and Richard Dunn of Miami, Fla.; his daughter, Rana Dunn of Bayside, N.Y.; his wife's children, Patricia (Walter) Trapp of Port Washington, N.Y., Jeanne (Gene) Erzinger of Little Egg Harbor, N.J. and Matthew (Vicki) D'Aguanno; and eight grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. ednesday at Riverside Memorial Chapel in Mount Vernon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or any charity.
