SOMERS, N.Y. - Elila Tucker Eldon, a resident of Heritage Hills in Somers, died suddenly on Oct. 27. She was 85.
A former secretary, she retired to Somers after raising her three children in Chappaqua.
Eldon was both in New York City on May 18, 1926 to Kenneth Todd and Dorothy Shaw Tucker. She attended Scarsdale High School and went on to graduate from Westtown School in West Chester, Penn. and what is now Berkeley College in New York.
She entered the business world as a secretary at ABC in New York, where she met and later married W. B. Taylor Eldon in 1952.
Surviving are her husband Taylor, her son Ken with wife Karen of Katonah, her daughter Janet with husband Paul of Somers, three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her daughter Betsy in 1981 and her grandson Chris in 2009.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Clark Associates Funeral Home in Katonah. A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday at The First Presbyterian Church of Katonah.
