Severe Storms, Flash Flooding, Damaging Wind Gusts Possible In Scarsdale

Strong to severe storms could sweep through the area Sunday afternoon and evening as a warm front arrives that will be followed overnight by a cold front, according to the National Weather Service.

Flash flooding is possible as maximum hourly rainfall rates could approach 1 inch per hour at times. Damaging wind gusts, possibly as high as 58 miles per hour, could accompany the storms, according to the National Weather Service.

Off-and-on showers are likely for the first half of the day Sunday with heavy rain likely and the storms possible after noon.

Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds and heavy rain. The high temperature will be in the mid 70s.

Showers and a possible thunderstorm, mainly before midnight, will be followed by a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight into Monday morning, with a slight chance of showers continuing through noon Monday.

The rest of the day Monday will be mostly sunny with a high around 80.
