WESTCHESTER, N.Y. – The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Westchester County due to heavy rainfall of more than 4 inches predicted between Thursday and Saturday.
Showers could begin early Thursday morning and thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon. The flood watch will likely to be in effect from 8 a.m. on Thursday to 8 a.m. on Saturday.
The storm is caused by low pressure that’s forecasted to build over the Mid-Atlantic States on Thursday, which could head north and pass south and east of Long Island by Thursday night into Friday morning, the weather service warning said.
