Responders in the Hudson Valley worked quickly to battle a blaze an auto dealership on Thanksgiving night, ensuring the business avoided significant damage. The blaze broke out in Putnam County just before 10 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28, at Meadowland Car Dealership in Carmel, according to authorities. Firefighters from the Carmel Fire Department arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the building on Route 6 near Old Route 6. Three suspects were apprehended in the act of allegedly trying to pull off a $100,000 identity theft scheme at an auto dealership in Westchester County, according to authorities. At around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30, detectives were alerted by staff at New Rochelle Toyota that a possible fraudulent purchase of a vehicle was in progress at the dealership. A 50-year-old woman will spend more than five years in prison and surrender millions of dollars after being sentenced for a “widespread” $33 million healthcare fraud scheme involving a Westchester auto dealership, federal officials announced.
