East Rutherford Tryouts Screen Kids For Nickelodeon Sports Challenge

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Nickelodeon is kicking off tryouts for the Kids’ Choice Sports 2016 Triple Shot Challenge in East Rutherford.

The tryouts will give three kids, ages 9-14, an opportunity to score $50,000 each during the show taping Thursday, July 14, in Los Angeles. 

On Monday, Nickelodeon and the New York Giants will team up for football tryouts at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center in East Rutherford. Tryouts will kick off at noon, and kids will be tasked with throwing a football to hit a target up to 30 yards away. 

Participants should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Pre-registration for the event is limited to 300 participants and is open now. To pre-register, e-mail perfectpass@nick.com, with your child’s name and age. One registrant per e-mail is allowed.

The winner of the football tryouts, along with their family, will receive an all-expense paid trip to attend Kids’ Choice Sports 2016 and go head to head with other football winners from around the country for a chance to participate in the main event. 

Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Sports 2016 is an awards show honoring kids’ favorite athletes, teams and sports moments in one sports celebration. 

This year’s show will be hosted by Seattle Seahawks’ two-time Super Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson and telecast at 8 p.m. Sunday, July 17 from UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles.
