Two members of the Rensselaer police force are being investigated -- by two different police departments -- for allegedly running down a groundhog while at a golf tournament in Troy, WNYT has reported.
The Rensselaer City Police Department had its tournament at the Frear Park Golf Course on Friday, July 29, according to WNYT.
A former Troy city employee posted that same day that he'd seen two people chase down a woodchuck -- also known as a groundhog -- in a golf cart, then run over it, WNYT reported.
Both the Troy Police Department and the Rensselaer City Police Department are investigating the incident, according to WNYT, but the latter called it a personnel matter.
