Two Long Island Store Clerks Charged With Selling Vaping Products To Minors

Two clerks at Long Island stores are facing charges for selling vape products to minors during a sting operation conducted by the Nassau County Police Department.

As part of “Operation Vape Out,” which includes the use of underage agents to purchase restricted products, a pair of clerks working in Bellmore and Seaford were arrested and issued appearance tickets for selling to the minors on Thursday, Nov. 7.

Shahid Faraz, 39, of East Meadow, was cited for selling a JUUL box with four mint pods to a person under the age of 21 at 7-Eleven on Jerusalem Avenue in Bellmore. Brooklyn resident Bashir Hassan, 29, was also cited for selling a JUUL box to a minor at Smoke Zone on Merrick Road in Seaford.

Both Faraz and Hassan were charged with Town of Hempstead violations for sale of restructured products. They are due to appear in Second District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday, Dec. 3 to answer the charges.
