Three Charged In Route 22 DWI Checkpoint In Dutchess

Three people are facing charges after being arrested at a sobriety checkpoint in Dutchess County this past weekend.

According to state troopers who were manning the Saturday, March 25, checkpoint on Route 22 in Pawling, two of the people arrested were accused of driving while intoxicated and the third, of having marijuana.

Michael Conway, 50, of Wingdale in Dutchess County, refused to take a breath test and was hit with a DWI charge, police said.

Brenden Clark, 20, of Brewster in Putnam County, did provide a breath sample. He was charged with DWI as well after the test showed he had a blood-alcohol content of .13 percent, police said.

The third person, whose name police did not release, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

All three are scheduled to appear in Town of Pawling Court on Thursday, April 6.
