This story has been updated.

A live power wire that landed on train tracks during a crash, has been removed and the Metro-North Harlem Line is back up and running to Hartsdale.

Town of Greenburgh Police say Pipeline Drive reopened for the evening rush hour after police conducted an investigation of the crash that took place around 11:55 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 12, when a Town of Greenburgh vehicle struck a utility pole on the roadway in Edgemont, said Town of Greenburgh Police Lt. Kobie Powell.

Con Ed will return to Pipeline Drive Wednesday, Nov. 13 after the morning rush hour to complete repairs to infrastructure.

A number of vehicles were hit by the utility pole when it fell that were parked in Site D, Chief Brian Joseph Ryan said.

"The damage was caused by wires landing on the opposite side in parking lot D, across the railroad tracks striking the parked vehicles," he said.

Greenburgh Police officers have located the vehicles and are writing police reports to document the damage, the chief said.

"The Officers will leave a business card with a report number on the windshield of your vehicle for your convenience," he added.

In addition to the roadway closure, Con Edison will be replacing the damaged poles on Pipeline Drive, police said.

Powell said the replacement may take several hours.

To help commuters, a police officer will be posted at a barricade at the north end of Pipeline Drive to assist those motorists who parked along Pipeline Drive (Site E), to safely access their vehicles once they disembark from the train station.

Greenburgh detectives are conducting an accident investigation.

There are no reported injuries.
