A strange scene unfolded in Putnam County when a “highly intoxicated” man began undressing himself before attempting to run into a roadway to avoid troopers attempting to arrest him, state police said.
Troopers were dispatched to Tanglewylde Road in Putnam Valley shortly after 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, where there was a report of “an unknown disturbance.”
Upon arrival at the scene, troopers found Lake Peekskill resident Anthony Massaro, 33, intoxicated and face down on the ground, screaming for assistance.
When the troopers attempted to provide help, Massaro allegedly began to undress himself and became combative, according to police.
While partially undressed, police said that Massaro attempted to run into the road, but was ultimately taken into custody.
Massaro was arrested and charged with misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest, public lewdness and cited for disorderly conduct and exposure of a person, violations.
ollowing processing, Massaro was released on his own recognizance and is due back in the Town of Putnam Valley Court on July 7 to answer the charges.
