SCARSDALE, N.Y. - Herbert James Stotter Jr. "Jim", of Scarsdale died Nov. 2. He was 88.
Stotter was a native of Shaker Heights, Ohio, he won his first Golf Club Championship at Oakwood Country Club at age 16, was captain of the Northwestern University Golf Team, and 12-time Club Champion at Sunningdale Country Club. He served as president of the Westchester Golf Association, Metropolitan Golf Association, and the Chicago Gift Show. With his partner, H. William Ettelson Jr., he ran H.J. Stotter Inc., manufacturers of plastic tabletop and decorative accessories.
Stotter is survived by his daughters, Nan Zinaman (Steve), Wendy Stotter, Cindy Weichert (Peter); two granddaughters; a great-grandson; and sister, Sandra Ettelson (Bill). He was predeceased by his wives, S. Patricia Rosenthal Stotter and Patricia Jacobs Stotter.
A gathering to honor Stotter’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6 at Sunningdale Country Club, 300 Underhill Road, Scarsdale.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greenburgh Nature Center, Jim Stotter Playground Fund, 99 Dromore Rd., Scarsdale, NY 10583.
