Nature Explorers: 3:15 p.m. Elementary school-aged students can join naturalist Kate Murphy for an animal- and nature-based after-school club. Experiments, crafts, live animals, and indoor/outdoor activities will encourage children to appreciate and further explore the natural world. Ages 6-9. $22. Let's Talk Turtles: 2:30 p.m. An expert from the Weinberg Nature Center will be on hand to fill kids in on everything about turtles. The class also includes a trip to the library pond to meet the turtles in person. Scott Room, Scarsdale Public Library, 54 Olmstead Road, Scarsdale.
Cassatt Quartet: 3 p.m. Scarsdale composer Gerald Cohen's "Playing for our Lives" will be among the featured pieces presented when the Cassatt String Quartet is featured in concert at Shaarei Tikvah. The synagogue's annual concert also is Shaarei Tikvah's observance of Yom Hashoah Holocaust Remembrance Day. The concert is open to the public, with no tickets required. A $20 suggested donation will be welcomed at the door; part of the proceeds will go to the Anne Frank Center in New York City. 46 Fox Meadow Road, Scarsdale.
