A drug trafficker who operated out of a Northern Westchester housing project for years has been sentenced to more than a decade behind bars.

Edward Holliman has been sentenced to 135 months in prison for conspiring to distribute crack cocaine in Peekskill between 2013 and 2017 after pleading guilty on April 24. He must also forfeit $30,000 and will be subjected to five years of supervised release when he is released from prison.

Beginning in 2013, Holliman supplied and distributed crack cocaine in and around Hohlmann Towers in Peekskill. To facilitate his drug sales, Holliman had several “workers” who acted as his co-conspirators that he managed and supervised who supplied the drugs to users in the area.

During his scheme, which lasted until his arrest in October last year, Holliman used his mother’s apartment in Bohlmann Towers to store the crack cocaine. During the execution of a search warrant at that apartment last year, police recovered more than 50 grams of cocaine that belonged to Holliman. In total, it is estimated that Holliman sold and distributed between 2.8 and 8.4 kilograms of crack cocaine as part of the charged conspiracy.

“Edward Holliman used a housing project in Peekskill as his personal market, peddling his drugs with no regard to their addictive destruction,” Geoffrey Berman, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York said. “Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the FBI and the Peekskill Police Department, Holliman’s marketplace is closed for good.

FBI Assistant Director-in-Charge William F. Sweeney Jr. added that, “the malignant creep of illegal drugs and violence into the once peaceful suburbs is a major focus of our FBI Westchester County Safe Streets Task Force.  Our goal is to build strong and lasting partnerships with local law enforcement agencies like Peekskill Police to be a force multiplier, stopping the dealers and pushers from further infecting the community.”
