SCARSDALE, N.Y. Registration is open for the Scarsdale Park and Recreation Department's 43rd annual 15K and four mile runs starting at 9 a.m. Sunday, April 1, at Scarsdale High School.
A one mile fun run will also be held between 11 and 11:30 a.m. for children 12 and younger. In addition, the Scarsdale Antiques Running Club will co-sponsor the Abe Simon Memorial Team race for men 50 years and older and women and teams 40 years and older.
The races will begin on Brewster Road and will continue through the Fox Meadow and Greenacres neighborhoods. Police will restrict traffic in the area, although local access will not be denied. A letter will be sent to all residents along the race route to bring their attention to the event. Police will block access to the school at the Wayside Lane entrance at 6 a.m. Race participants will be able to enter the school from Olmstead and Brewster roads.
The entry fee for the 15K and four mile runs is $16 by March 11, $30 after that date. The kids Fun Run entry fee is $15 by March 11, increasing to $25. Register by March 11 to receive a free race T-shirt.
