If you're looking for a summer read, look no further than "Days of Bossa Nova," a family saga about love, music and greed, set in São Paulo.
Scarsdale Author Ines Rodrigues grew up in the South American city and worked as a journalist there before landing in New York years ago.
Now, her first novel, inspired by her native home, is being published Saturday, May 27 by Black Opal Books.
Rodrigues teaches Creative Writing at The Writing Institute at Sarah Lawrence College, and Italian Language at Bronxville Adult School. Since 2015, she has been an ardent promoter of the Scarsdale Salon in partnership with fellow journalist and columnist Preeti Singh. The Salon is a free literary event at the Scarsdale Library, where authors periodically read from their work and meet the community.
She will be doing a book signing and reading on Saturday, June 3 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Scarsdale Library (54 Olmstead Rd.) and on Wednesday, June 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Wrexham House at Sarah Lawrence College (45 Wrexham Rd., Bronxville).
