SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Scarsdale writers are invited to help develop the Scarsdale Library Writers Center, a new group that will support and promote local writers.
Feedback from its members will guide the group’s growth, Barbara Josselsohn, president of the Library Board of Trsutees, said in a statement. Activities in the beginning stages of the group will include regular readings by Scarsdale writers of new works, critique groups, speakers focused on career building and professional advice and forums for students interested in pursuing writing as a career.
“We are so lucky to have a wealth of talented writers working in all disciplines in this town, from journalism to fiction to children’s books and even playwriting,” Elizabeth Bermel, director of Scarsdale Library, said in a statement.
The first two meetings will be from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. April 9 and 7 to 8 p.m. April 11 in the Scott Room at the library. Email Bermel at ebermel@wlsmail.org with any questions.
The Scarsdale Library is on 54 Olmstead Road.
