Rye Ranks Among Nation's Smartest Public High Schools

RYE, N.Y. -- Rye High School was ranked the 25th-smartest public high school in the country in a recent report, according to Business Insider.

Education research website Niche compiled information based on standardized test scores, the quality of college graduates attend, AP class enrollment, graduation rates and state proficiency exams, Business Insider said.

Rye was the second-highest ranked public high school in Westchester, behind only Horace Greeley, with a composite SAT score range of 1,920 to 1,970. Rye was also given high praise for its new senior internship program that begins this year, Business Insider said. 

Scarsdale and Bronxville were the other two high schools to make the list, ranking 30th and 33rd, respectively. 

The title of smartest public high school in the country went to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Annandale, Va.
