RYE, N.Y. For the first time ever, two plays are being performed with two extraordinary casts to kick off the Rye High School Parsons Street Players 2012-13 theatrical season on Oct. 12 and 13.
First, the players will perform Christopher Durangs An Actors Nightmare, a hilarious one-act satire detailing the plight of a stranger who is suddenly pushed onstage to replace an ailing actor. He has no knowledge of his lines or what play he is in.
Then be prepared for intrigue and suspense as the troupe presents Agatha Christies renowned play And Then There Were None. Join this disparate group of people who are invited to a house party on a remote island where the host is absent. Soon theyre all accused of murder, and bodies stack up like leaves in autumn. This is Christies most-performed play and was made into the movie Ten Little Indians. See if you can figure out whodunit, before its too late.
Performances are Friday, Oct. 12, at 8 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets are sold at the performances and are $10 for adults and $5 for students; senior citizens get in free.
The plays will be presented at the Rye High School Performing Arts Center, 1 Parsons St., Rye.
