Rye City School District Named Among Best In Nation

RYE, N.Y. -- When it comes to education in the United States, the Rye City School District gets mostly A’s.

TheStreet.com has unveiled its list of the best school districts in the United States, including the Rye City School District, which ranked No. 8.

Rankings are determined using data from government and public data sets, the website’s own proprietary data and more than four million opinion-based survey responses from more than 280,000 students, recent alumni and parents.

Rye scored an A+ for academics, a C for student culture and diversity and an A for resources and facilities. The school district of 3,199 students averaged SAT scores of 650 on math, 640 on reading and 660 on writing, as well as an average of 30 on the ACT. The school district is considered 72 percent proficient in math and/or reading by state standards and received a 4.6 out of 5 on parent/student surveys regarding overall experience.
