Blind Brook School Board Names Two Administrators

RYE BROOK, N.Y. - The Blind Brook Board of Education has appointed Eastchester physical education teacher Gregory Russo to the position of director of health, physical education and interscholastic athletics.

The post was previously held by longtime Blind Brook educator Jim Spano, who will retire at the end of the school year.

"Mr. Russo demonstrated superior facility in all of the areas that encompass this position," Superintendent William Stark said. "We are very fortunate to have Mr. Russo."

Russo was unanimously approved by the board of education and will take over the position on July 1.

"I'm really, really excited to be in the community," Russo said. "I'm looking forward to meeting you, working with you and keep the high standards this district has always had. It's going to be a pleasure to serve."

In addition to the appointment of Russo, the board also appointed Lori Cutrone, formerly of the Mount Pleasant school district, as the new assistant principal of the Bruno M. Ponterio Ridge Street Elementary School.

"It is a pleasure and an honor to be a new member of this school community," Cutrone said. "I look forward to working with all of the staff, certainly all of the children and all of the families here in Blind Brook."
