Yonkers resident Chanelle Franklin, 34, was sentenced to six months in jail followed by five years probation after pleading guilty to manslaughter in the stabbing death of Khalif Kennedy in February last year. Franklin and Kennedy reportedly had a child together.

On Feb. 2 last year, Franklin stabbed Kennedy in her Caryl Avenue apartment during an argument, police said. Officers responded to a 911 call at the residence and found Kennedy with a life-threatening stab wound to his neck.

Kennedy, 41, was transported to an area hospital, where he ultimately died from the stab wound later that night.

Franklin initially denied culpability in the stabbing, telling investigators that Kennedy had arrived home with the wound, police said. She later admitted to getting into an argument at the home, stabbing him when he allegedly became aggressive. The pair reportedly had a history of arguments and domestic incidents.
