The Westchester County Department of Public Works and Transportation announced plans to rehabilitate the roads around where Old Post Road and North Street run over Playland Parkway in southern Rye.
The project, which is expected to last eight months, will begin on Monday with work taking place weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until July 2, 2012.
During the project, traffic from Old Post Road between the New York State Thruway Access Drive and Playland Parkway Access Drive will be reduced to a single lane of alternating traffic to be controlled by flag persons. Playland Parkway will also have altered traffic patterns as it will be reduced to one lane in both directions between Theodore Fremd Avenue and North Street.
The Westchester County Department of Public Works and Transportation advises drivers to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
