The 22-year-old Dempsey twins had always done things together gorwing up in Rye, but after high school they went their separate ways. Greg Dempsey chose the military academy at West Point, wanting to become an Army officer. Ted Dempsey chose the Naval Academ at Annapolis, Maryland, wanting to become a Navy pilot.
"I've always wanted to fly," said Greg, who will be stationed in Pensacola, Florida.
"September 11 pushed me to join the army," said Greg, who will serve as a Second Liutenant in military intellegnce at Fort Lewis in Washington state.
The brothers came in uniform to Rye's Memorial ceremony on Monday, May 30, with their grandfather who fought in World War II.
"We're just another link in a long chain," said Greg.
