RYE/PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – A Rye YMCA blood drive, a beekeeper program, tag sales, and a free family film night are some of the events on tap in Rye and Port Chester this weekend.

Friday, Sept. 21

Wiggle & Giggle Time: 9:30 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 11 a.m. Children will wiggle to music, giggle to funny rhymes, and pretend to be wild animals in this lively interactive program at the Rye Free Reading Room, 1061 Boston Post Road, Rye.

Saturday, Sept. 22

Rye YMCA Blood Drive: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Donate blood to benefit the White Plains Hospital by stopping by the Child Care Room at the Rye YMCA, 21 Locust Ave., Rye.

Glen Avenue Tag Sale: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 74 Glen Ave., Port Chester. Corner of Glen and Elmont.

Block Tag Sale: 9 a.m. to noon. Several families on Hannan Place in Rye will be selling a wide selection of clothes, shoes, household items, and furniture.

Tag Sale: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 237 Locust Ave., Port Chester.

Rye Historical Society Beekeeper Program: 2 p.m. Nature lovers, conservationists, and locavores are invted to a program presented by beekeeper Ray Dubois. He will discuss the importance of honey bees to our environment and our daily lives. Attendees also will learn how honey is harvested and have an opportunity to taste the harvest. Rye YMCA Y2Night! Middle School Night: 7-10 p.m. Rye YMCA will be open for basketball, swimming, working out, video games or socializing with friends in the Teen Lounge. Teens also can try air hockey, pool, ping-pong or foosball in the game room. Admission is free for Rye Y members and $5 for non-members. Rye YMCA, 21 Locust Ave., Rye.

“The Lorax” Screening At Port Chester High School: 6:30 p.m. Port Chester Cares Community Coalition and the Port Chester Football and Cheerleading Booster Club are hosting the Third Annual Free Family Film Night in celebration of family day.
