What To Do In The Rye Area This Weekend

RYE N.Y. – Performances at the Capitol Theatre and an emergency management drill  are some of the events planned in the Rye area this weekend. For more events, visit our calendar.

Friday, Feb. 22

Capitol Theatre Performance: 8 p.m. Join late-night host, sitcom star and comedian George Lopez during this special show rescheduled from Nov. 2, which was canceled due to Hurricane Sandy. All tickets for the evening will be honored, or refunds made available. This event is for ages 18 and over. Reserved seating is available in the orchestra, loge and balcony. Aqua Zumba at Carver Center: 5 p.m. Join Carver Center’s weekly aqua Zumba class. Free for members; $10 per class for nonmembers. Port Chester Carver Center, 400 Westchester Ave., Port Chester.

Rye Schools Emergency Drill: The Rye Police Department will be doing drills to test its emergency maneuvers at Milton School while the district is on winter break. Officials also will do walk-throughs at Midland and Osborn schools.

Saturday, Feb. 23

Capitol Theatre Performance: 8 p.m. Vermont-based rock band Grace Potter and the Nocturnals grace the stage for the first of two shows this weekend. The performance will feature Tennessee singer-songwriter Rayland Baxter. This event, for ages 18 and over, will have general admission standing-room-only and reserved seats in the loge and balcony. The first night is sold out, but tickets are available for Sunday's show. Advance tickets are $35 for general admission and $55 for reserved seating. On the day of the show, tickets are $40 for general admission and $60 for reserved seating. To purchase tickets, visit The Capitol Theatre’s box office or events page. Sunday, Feb. 24

Carver Center Fitness Center: 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Carver Center members can get a workout in the gym. Port Chester Carver Center, 400 Westchester Ave., Port Chester.
