Motorists Endure Morning Gridlock On Tappan Zee Bridge Span

A pair of separate crashes resulted in gridlock on the Tappan Zee Bridge span during the Monday morning commute on northbound I-87 heading toward Rockland.

The first crash blocked the left lane on the span. After that lane reopened, a new crash took out the right lane just before 8 a.m.

Delays of 30 minutes were the norm during the height of the morning commute.
