DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. - The Dobbs Ferry High School boys' and girls' basketball teams rolled to easy victories Tuesday in the postseason playoffs.
Both teams reached the Section 1 Class B semifinal round to be played next week at the Westchester County Center.
Eric Paschall scored 30 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and had five assists to lead the Eagles boys to a 74-56 victory against visiting Woodlands High School . The boys advanced to next Wednesday's semifinal and will play either Briarcliff or North Salem.
"We played well and moved the ball on offense, but turned the it over too much," Paschall said. "We have to take care of the ball better. We're focusing on our rebounding and defense and that was pretty good today."
Nick Kost added 18 points, including seven in the first quarter when the Eagles ran out to a an early 15-10 lead.
"Our spacing was good and we moved the ball well," Kost said. "I think we got sloppy at different times in the game. Our guard play has to improve and we have to be more consistent on defense."
The fifth-seeded Eagles girls traveled to No. 4 seed Pleasantville and ran away with an 18-point victory. The girls will play in a semifinal game Tuesday at the County Center.
