HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - Hastings High School was ranked 30th in New York State and 168th in the nation in US News and Wold Report's annual high school rankings.
The magazine teamed with American Institutes for Research, a behavioral and social science research organization, to evaluate more than 21,000 public high schools in 49 states and the District of Columbia. Data was from the 2010-11 school year.
Schools were ranked based on state proficiency standards and college readiness, and awarded schools either a gold, silver or bronze medal based on these criteria.
Hastings High School has 537 students enrolled in 9-12 grades and boasts a 63.7 percent college readiness rate with 74 percent of the student body taking Advanced Placement course work.
The report ranked 99 percent of Hastings students proficient in English and 97 percent proficient in math.
