IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- The New York State Education Department recently named Irvington High School, Irvington Middle School and Main Street School as three of only 364 New York State Reward Schools for high performance.
Reward Schools are ones that have made the most progress or have the highest performance in the state with no significant gaps in student achievement between subgroups.
This month, Irvington High School Principal David Cohen, Irvington Middle School Principal David Sottile and Main Street School Principal Joyce Chapnick will be presented with award certificates provided by the state Education Department and Board of Regents.
“We are proud of all of our students for their academic achievement,” Superintendent of Schools Kristopher Harrison said. “To have our schools recognized by New York State for high performance is a fine honor, and I commend all of our principals, faculty and staff throughout the district.”
