IRVINGTON, N.Y. – Irvington students got the chance to browse a menu of extracurricular activities at a recent club fair held at the middle school.
The sixth-graders, and students who were new to the district, were given a brief presentation and a video overview of the offerings. They then chatted with current members before signing up for the clubs that interested them.
“It was a huge success, with students excitedly signing up for multiple clubs,” said Assistant Principal Allyson Daley.
The middle school has just added a debate club, a chess club, and the Diversity Alliance.
“We are looking forward to an amazing year,” she added.
Students said they appreciated the information provided at the fair and enjoyed talking to classmates who were already involved with clubs.
Said one who ended up joining five clubs: “There were a lot of choices, which is really great because I’m interested in lots of different things.”
