HASTINGS-On-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Hastings High School junior Luming Chan won first prize in the 37th Yonkers Philharmonic Orchestra Concerto competition.
As a result, he was awarded $1,000, and he had the opportunity to appear with the Yonkers Philharmonic Orchestra ("Concerto Time at the Philharmonic') in May at Saunders Trades and Technical High School, playing the Elgar Cello Concerto, first and fourth Movement, under the baton of Byung Kook Kwak, with master of ceremonies Robert Sherman.
