DOBBS FERRY, N.Y.- The Dobbs Ferry High School graduation will once again be at its traditional Hudson River site after it was relocated in February due to ongoing construction at the Waterfront Park venue.
Construction at the park forced the school district to move its 2013 outdoor commencement ceremony to the nearby Mercy College campus.
But the scheduled work has been postponed, allowing the school to use the scenic site for the June 22 ceremony that will begin at 6:30 p.m.
"This will allow the district to hold our graduation ceremony in the beautiful tradition that our families have come to love and expect," a district statement said.
Work at the Waterfront Park began in September 2011 at Willow Point, where a new seawall bulkhead was constructed. According to Mayor Hartley Connett's recent report, the upland portion of the work was expected to begin this summer.
