14 Irvington High School Juniors Win College Book Awards

IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- More than a dozen outstanding Irvington High School students have been chosen as recipients of the 2016 College Book Award, school officials announced this week.

More than a dozen juniors at Irvington High School were the recipients of the 2016 Book Award. The 14 winners, chosen for their academic excellence and contributions to society, proudly show off their books after a recent awards ceremony.

The 14 juniors, recognized for their academic excellence and contributions to society, each received a book from Ivy League colleges and universities or their local alumni organizations.

The award recipients and the schools that gave the books are: Dorian Barber (Dartmouth College), Emma Castiblanco (Mount Holyoke College), Riley Conklin (George Washington University), Emma DeRose (Dartmouth College), Hope Gray (Saint Michael’s College), Bradley Goldsmith (Cornell University), Ryan Meng Killeen (Harvard University), Zoe Mermelstein (Yale University), Clara Montgomery (University of Pennsylvania), Lydia Pak (Columbia University), Evan Pickar (Brandeis University), Atsuyo Shimizu (Smith College), Gabe Siegel (Saint Michael’s College), and Yuri Sugihara (Wellesley College).
