HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - Hastings-on-Hudson Mayor Peter Swiderski, and Trustees Bruce Jennings and Meg Walker, all Democratic Party incumbents, will run unopposed when village elections are held on March 19.
Swiderski, Jennings and Walker will each be elected to two-year terms as the only candidates on the ballot. The salary for the mayoral position is $3,840 per year, and $1,920 per year for trustees.
Swiderski was elected as a trustee in 2003 and as mayor in 2009. Both Jennings and Walker will be elected the their third term as trustees. Jennings was also also a trustee from 2000 to 2006 for three terms
Registered voters may submit applications for an absentee ballot by Tuesday (March 12). Monday, March 18 is the last day that the village clerk can accept absentee ballots.
The village election will be held Tuesday, March 19 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the James Harmon Community Center at 44 Main St.
