SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- Sleepy Hollow police are investigating an attempted luring incident that occurred as a female student was walking to school.
According to a police statement posted on the village website, the student was approached by a woman in a silver sedan about 8:15 a.m. Friday near the Global gas station at 357 N. Broadway, also known as Route 9).
The woman asked the girl if she wanted a ride to school. When the girl refused, the woman, who claimed to be a nurse, was persistent, according to police. When the girl refused again, the woman drove off.
The woman was described as about 55 years old and white with long blond hair. According to police, her silver car may have been a Honda.
