The Ossining Police Department announced that Mario Mieles of Ossining turned himself in on Thursday night as the investigation into a shooting at approximately 4:45 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10 on Van Cortlandt Avenue.

The shooting led to a road closure between North Highland and Cortlandt Place during the police investigation. Mieles’ victim remains hospitalized, police noted.

Police said that Mieles, 30, turned himself in on Thursday, Feb. 14 at the Birdsall-Fagan Police & Court Facility, where he was charged with first-degree assault. Following his arraignment in Ossining Town Court, Mieles was remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail.
