Children's Village Residents Charged In Burglary In Dobbs Ferry

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Three teenage residents of Children’s Village were charged with burglary after they allegedly forcibly entered a Dobbs Ferry apartment, Sgt. Sean White said Monday.

The burglary occurred at 7 Zimmerman Court at 2 p.m. July 3.

Erick Enderson, 17, was charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony. Dwight Smith, 17, was charged with second-degree burglary as well as forcible touching, a class A misdemeanor. A 15-year-old male was charged with second-degree burglary and forcible touching.

The three teens forced their way into an apartment, White said. When an 18-year-old female resident attempted to block their way, the three teens pushed her out of the way, police said. Smith and the 15-year-old forcibly touched and grabbed her body, police said. Upon gaining entry, one suspect took her smartphone, and the three teens fled in an unknown direction, White said.

The victim described the suspects to police and Children’s Village staff. The staff located the three and turned them over to police. The Westchester County K9 Unit aided in the search, said Sgt. Manuel Guevara. The three teens were taken to police headquarters and processed, White said.

Enderson and Smith were sent without bail at Westchester County Jail until a trial date is available, and the 15-year-old was sent to Woodfield Cottage, Guevara said.
