DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Jamnesty and several other live musical performances, plus lectures on parenting and climate change, are among events happening this weekend in Dobbs Ferry and Hastings-on-Hudson.

Friday, May 18

Pediatrics on Hudson: 9:30 a.m. Pediatrics on Hudson will host the second session of its two-part seminar "The Challenging Child" as part of its parenting series. The cost is $40, and the seminar is open only to those who took the first part. Monthly parenting seminars by psychologist Lori Walsh and Jennifer Altman continue through October. NewFound Road: 8 p.m. NewFound Road will play at the Purple Crayon. 52 Main St., Hastings-on-Hudson.

Saturday, May 19

Jamnesty: Noon. Jamnesty will feature performances by local and student bands. There will be activities for families along with popcorn and a barbecue. Tickets are $5 per person or $15 per family, with all proceeds going to Amnesty International. Burke Estate, 360 Broadway, Hastings.

Jazz: 2:30 p.m. Joan Crowe will play at the Dobbs Ferry Public Library as part of its jazz series. 55 Main St.

Driftwood with South County: 7:30 p.m. Driftwood will perform with South County at the Common Ground Coffee House at the First Unitarian Society, 25 Old Jackson Ave., Hastings.

Art Academy of Westchester: 7:30 p.m. As part of its Conversations on Dance Series, the academy will present "Limon: A Life Beyond Words." The cost at the door is $15 for members of RiverArts, $20 for nonmembers. Reservations are recommended. Art Academy of Westchester, 145 Palisade St., Studio No. 404, Dobbs Ferry.

Talking Pictures Screening: 3 p.m. The Hastings-on-Hudson Public Library will screen "Solaris." 7 Maple Ave., Hastings.

Lifting the Fog: 4 p.m. Lifting the Fog: Straight Talk on Climate Change will feature guest speaker Jeffery Dyke as part four of its series on climate change. Hastings Community Center, 44 Main St.

Live Music and Love Poetry: 7 p.m. The Purple Crayon will host live music and love poetry. 52 Main St., Hastings.
