Police Rush to Graham Windham After Gun Reported

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - Hastings police teamed up with other local departments early Monday morning in response to a report of a youth carrying a gun.

At about 12:42 a.m. Monday the Hastings Police Department received a call from a female staff member at the Graham Windham School saying she saw a male student walking around campus with a gun. Police said initial reports said shots may have been fired.

Patrol officers were sent to the campus along with Yonkers, Greenburgh and the Westchester County police. After searching the area police found a 16-year-old who had been missing on campus. Police said the boy was inside Edgewood Cottage, but he did not have a weapon on him.

After a further search of the campus, police found a replica antique gun on the side of the elementary school. There have been no charges filed as of Monday afternoon. Residents are still being questioned and the investigation is ongoing.
