Hastings Police Charge Teenager in Home Burglary

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Hastings Police Department announced the arrest of a Yonkers man in a home burglary on Burnside Drive in January. 

Jose DeLacruz, 19, was charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony; third-degree criminal mischief, a class E felony; and second-degree criminal trespass, a class A misdemeanor.

Police said the home was burglarized on Jan. 6 between 8:30 a.m. and 1:20 p.m., and electronics and jewelry were taken. Fingerprints found at the home were given to the Westchester County Identification Unit, and a match was made to DeLacruz, police said. Yonkers police were advised of a warrant for DeLacruz, and on Tuesday, April 10, Yonkers officers arrested him and brought him to Hastings.

DeLacruz was arraigned and sent to the Westchester County jail on $15,000 bail. Police said he was in Village Court on Wednesday night and was jailed the same night.
